A Victorian Christmas

Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 December

Discover the splendour of a Victorian Christmas all around the Museum!

Get hands-on with some festive crafty fun, making mangle-print Christmas cards in the old Wash House.

View our display of Victorian costumes in the Gallery – pieces of the Museum’s collection that are rarely seen.

Dress-up in the Daylight Photographic Studio and pose for pictures in your favourite Victorian outfits.

Try your hand at Victorian fair games, visit the falconry display from Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre or see if it’s your lucky day at the tombola or if you can guess the weight of the Christmas cake.  Fun for the whole family to enjoy throughout the weekend!

There’s also the opportunity to visit Father Christmas in his traditional green garb (£3 per child, includes a small gift, 11am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-3pm each day).
