Heritage Open Day
Saturday 21 September
As part of Heritage Open Days, you can visit Ryedale Folk Museum on Saturday 21 September for FREE! We’re open 10am-5pm.
Come and explore our twenty buildings, set in six beautiful acres, as you learn how people have lived, worked and played in Ryedale from the Iron Age to the 1950s.
See the blacksmith at work, visit the traditional village store or take a trip to the witch, if you dare.
It’s also a great chance to meet the archaeologists – bring in your finds for identification or have a go at making your own pottery.
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. Find out more by clicking here.
