Filming

Filming Enquiries

Ryedale Folk Museum has been used for location filming in a number of television shows including Death comes to Pemberley, CBBC’s Hacker the Dog and Secret Britain. In addition, we have hosted crews from small, independent, amateur and student productions.

For more information, please download our filming location and photo shoot brochure.

We are often sought out by television and film production companies because of our range of historic buildings, which include:

  • Thatched buildings from different periods of history including the Elizabethan, Iron Age and Victorian
  • Historic interiors of the buildings some of which feature old-fashioned kitchen sets which may be used for periods from the Victorian to the 1940s
  • Cottage-style buildings which can represent simple rural homes and dwellings from right across England and the U.K.
  • The original 1950s interior of a traditional village store, which is normally dressed with classic goods for sale
